Blizzard has confirmed that The Overwatch Summer Games is back once again this year and will run from August 9th to August 30th, giving you plenty of time to attempt to get more loot boxes.
The Summer Games first started in celebration of the Summer Olympics in 2016 and since has been a beloved event (second only to Halloween) thanks to the exclusive summer-themed hero skins and Lucioball – Overwatch’s Rocket League style game mode. Blizzard confirmed Lucioball will make its return this year and suggests that the mode’s arena will be moving to Busan, South Korea.
Blizzard is also teaming up with Twitch to bring several in-game rewards for subscribers of Twitch/Amazon Prime. Subscribers can unlock two loot boxes until September 3rd which will containĀ four random items for Overwatch’s new Tank hero: Wrecking Ball. In September, members can also unlock a Golden Loot Box, however it won’t contain a fix set of items or unlock seasonal events items.
