There isn’t much debate that One Punch Man is a great anime however there lies the question about how the series could get turned into a game, after all Saitama (aka One Punch Man) is a tad bit overpowered being able to destroy enemies in one punch. While in the show it’s usually played for kicks but if Bandai Namco wants to make a proper representation of the show to game, there has to be a limitation to Saitama’s power.
To keep things from being one-sided – Saitama is used as the match ender thanks to the Hero Arrival mechanic. In a new gameplay trailer, it shows Saitama running on the left -side of the screen with a distance to go. Players will have to survive until Saitama arrives to the fight, with doing combos and perfect guards will speed up his arrival. When he arrives, he can absorb a lot of damage and defeat opponents in one punch.
The trailer also highlighted new fighters to the mix, including S-Class heroes Terrible Tornado, Silver fang and Atomic Samurai. These fighters join the series regulars like Genos and Speed-o’-Sound Sonic, bumping the cast up to 13 playable fighters. Bandai Namco has not confirmed what the final roster count will be.
Currently, One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is set to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, no release date has been confirmed as of yet.
