Earlier today, Atlus announced that the PS4, PS3 and PSVita remake of the PS2 classic side-scrolling RPG/Beat’em up, Odin Sphere, is currently set for a Spring 2016 release. Odin Sphere Leifthrasir will be priced at $59.99 (PS4), $49.99 (PS3), and $39.99 (Vita) USD and will come with a 64-page soft cover artbook.
For those who want to show more love for the fantasy brawler, Atlus as also announced a “Storybook edition” which will be priced at $79.99 (USD), and contain a hardcover version of the artbook mentioned above, a yet-to-be-specified art print, potion recipe t-shirt, metal slipcase, and a premium, art-laden outer box to contain it all. Atlus advised that this will be a limited run and will only be available for PS4.
Now I’ve been against purchasing Collectors Editions since the prices in Canada has gone up thanks to a failing dollar (with no likelihood of seeing the prices drop back down once the dollar is restored), however as a fan of Vanilliaware and the original PS2 version of Odin Sphere, this is one collectors edition I fully intend on getting. What are you’re thoughts, is the Storybook Edition worth your money? Let us know in the comments.
