It wasn’t enough to show off The Last of Us Part 2 during the State of Play presentation, Sony had to drop another treat for Playstation Plus subscribers by announcing that The Last of Us Remastered will be coming to Instant Game Collection in October.
The Last of Us, for those who don’t understand the hype, is a action-horror game from the makers of the Uncharted series which focuses on Joel and Ellie who must cross a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly fungus has infected humans and turned them essentially into zombies. While these creatures are certainly horrifying, Joel and Ellie also have to deal with humans who are also trying to survive at any cost.
The Last of Us released in 2013 to high praise, our review (done back when we were testing things like not putting a score to the review) said “Naughty Dog didn’t just raise the bar here, they completely obliterated it with it’s intense story, great graphics, and absolutely amazing sound design.” – and the PS4 Remastered just improves on its greatness.
Now for those not in the mood for a gripping/touching/horrifying experience may want to check out the next game as part of the list, MLB The Show 19. While the game is Baseball which may not appeal to non-sports fans out of the gate, it’s hard to deny that MLB The Show 19 is a damn good game. With an impressive career mode which brings in RPG Elements into the game, plus a ridiculous amount of customization and smooth controls, it’s one game that even non-sports fans should check out.
