In a recent interview with GNN, No More Heroes creator Suda51 has said that No More Heroes 3 might not be Travis’ last fight as fans might have the power to bring Travis back for a future Suda51 title.
In the interview, Suda51 stated that “[No More Heroes 3] is Travis’ last battle,” when asked about the future of the franchise. However, he gave fans of the assassin Otaku some hope. “Nobody could say what’s going to happen 10 years from now, and I can’t say either. If there’s a big fan outcry, Travis might be back. Just like Tom Cruise came back as Maverick.”
The interview also included questions including the possibility of releasing a No More Heroes Collection featuring all three games, to which Suda51, while enthusiastic about the idea, advised that the decision would be up to the publisher and not him. He also expressed interest in the possibility of a No More Heroes Movie if James Gunn was directing and Ryan Gosling took the role of Travis Touchdown.
The latest of the series, No More Heroes 3, was released on the Switch in 2021 and had received mixed reviews but stands at a 75/100 score on Metacritic with many praising it’s over the top boss battles but noted issues with visuals and performance that held it back. The game will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC on October 11th 2022.
