While I’ve always enjoyed the BlazBlue series, I usually held off buying the game until the Extend edition came out, new fighters, more story and better balancing always made the wait worth it. Although it seems like the next entry in the BlazBlue series may skip the Extend edition.
In an interview with Famitsu (via Hachima), BlazBlue creator Toshimichi Mori stated that there will not be an Extend version of Central Fiction as the game “has enough content” but promises post-launch fixes as well as new characters if there is fan demand. As of if there will be a sequel to the game, Mori teased that Central Fiction’s story will show how the BlazBlue story can progress further, but to also pay more attention to Relius, Hazama, Es, and Naoto.
With Central Fiction releasing Today in Japan, Mori is already at work on his next game but has teased that it will not be a fighter, no other mention on what the game might be, however he also stated that if he was to return to the Fighting Genre, he wanted to create something that will shake up the genre.
BlazBlue Central Fiction will be out in North America on November 1st 2016 and on November 4th in Europe.
