For those excited for the new Tomb Raider game but would like to try before you buy the game, your sadly out of luck.
“For all those @tombraider fans asking. There are no plans to release a demo of the game pre-launch. We don’t want to spoil the story,” tweeted Global Brand Director Karl Stewart. “We’ve weaved such an personal story we don’t believe spoiling it by having you wait a week or so to play on, delivers on our promise.”
While Post-Launch demos are not out of the question, it seems unlikely that there will be one considering that the game is heavily story focused. Luckily there isn’t much of a wait left with the game’s launch set for March 5th.
Although Square recently announced information on the game’s multiplayer, a first for the series. The game is confirming two modes of play, the standard Team Deathmatch, and a new mode called Rescue that shows some promise.
In Rescue, the teams are split in to two factions: The Scavengers, who must collect 5 medikits and bring it back to the base, meanwhile the opposing faction; the Solarii, are given a kill goal (in the press demo the goal was set to 20) however to balance it out, weapons will wound an knock down opponents forcing the player to get up close and personal to get the point.
While it sounds interesting enough, we will have to wait to see it in action when the game launches.
