Koei Tecmo/Team Ninja’s super difficult Samurai epic, Nioh, will be getting some new content via updates in March according to a livestream with the developers which was translated and distilled by Gematsu.
The first of these updates will be available in March and will consist of 10 types of new missions, including modes similar to Boss Rush. Meanwhile in April, Player vs Player combat will be introduced. Currently in Nioh, players can see the shrines of fallen fighters and choose to face them in combat for extra Armita or items, and pretty much leaves that as the extent of it’s competitive multiplayer (the game does feature a co-operative feature). Not much more is known in terms of matchmaking in the PvP fights, or more details on what the upcoming missions will bring.
In April, the first piece of Paid DLC content will also arrive, Dragon of Tohoku, which will bring in a new weapon type, characters, guardian spirits and yokai. Two more DLC packs are set to release some time after, called “Japan’s Best Warrior” and “Peaceful and Tranquil”. No price was given for the DLC packs, however the Season Pass for Nioh is priced at $25 (USD)
Nioh is available now exclusively for the PS4.
