If the NES Classic games on the Nintendo Switch Online are too old for your liking, then a recent Data-Mine may have some good news for you. A modder in the Nintendo Community under the name KapuccinoHeck tweeted out this weekend that they were able to dig into the NES Online Files and found a long list of reference to SNES games including Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Mario World.
Of the list there is a lot of overlap from the previously released Mini-SNES with a couple of notable exceptions such as Demon’s Crest, Stunt Race FX, Pilotwings, The Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Breath of Fire 2.Here is KapuccinoHeck’s full tweet with the list below:
Star Fox 2 (lol)
Super Punch-Out!!
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Super Mario All-Stars
Breath of Fire 2— Kapu | gamers will perish (@KapuccinoHeck) January 13, 2019
Nintendo has yet to give any official confirmation or information in regards to this data-mine and has not announced any plans for other consoles outside the NES. For all we know, the data could have been test files to see what Nintendo could with the Nintendo Switch Online service.
At this time, we’re listing this in rumours until Nintendo gives us full confirmation.
