One of the many big stories that came out of Nintendo Direct today was for Legend of Zelda fans. This fall they will be able to play the Gamecube classic The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker in HD on the Wii U. This remake came with the news that a new Zelda for the Wii U is in development however it is taking some time to complete.
Zelda’s producer Eiji Aonuma had stated that the new Wii U version’s mission statement is to “change the conventions of Zelda.” Including things like Dungeon progression, but also stated that more time is needed. While fans wait, Wind Waker HD will hit in fall to include updated graphics and gameplay, as well as Off-TV gamepad play and MiiVerse compatibility.
