It has been two months since Nintendo president Satoru Iwata pass away and now Nintendo has announced that former Nintendo of America president Tatsumi Kimishima will be taking over the role.
Kimishima was head of Nintendo of America between 2002-2006 before he was succeeded by Reggie Fils-Aime. Before that, he worked Sanwa Bank in Japan for nearly three decades and was Chief Financial Officer of the Pokemon Company.
Nintendo’s official statement also lists Shigeru Miyamoto as a “Creative Fellow,” while fellow exec Genyo Takeda is a “Technology Fellow.” They both remain as senior managing directors as well as representative directors at the company.
Kimishima will have some big shoes to fill when officially starts on September 16th as Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s representative director.
