Square Enix has been busy in Hollywood as of late as reports of some of their biggest franchises that were formerly owned by Edios are set to hit the silver screen in the near future.
The first of which was reports of a brand new Tomb Raider movie, in which the game’s developer Crystal Dynamics was going to have a helping hand in creating according to Variety. The film is set to be produced by GK Films, who is better known for Argo, The Departed, and World War Z. Like the latest game, the film will be a reboot, following the footsteps of a young Lara Croft; and continuing the style set by the latest game rather then a continuation of the Angelina Jolie series.
Two new domains were registered for the Deus Ex series, listing subtitles for Deus Ex: Human Defiance and Deus Ex: The Fall, instantly sparking rumors of a new game in the series. However it appears that Human Defiance is the name of the upcoming film set in the Deus Ex Universe by CBS Films as they also brought several domain names relating to the series (including www.deusexhumandefiancefilm.com.) As for Deus Ex: The Fall, Square Enix Europe has both trademarked and registered several domains for this name, however has not officially announced a sequel to Human Revolution.
