Our Shooter game of 2016 is getting some more multiplayer content on its way in the form of a new mode in February and the return of a classic Titanfall map in March, while continuing Respawn’s promise that all new maps and multiplayer modes for Titanfall 2 will be free.
The new mode, called Live Fire, promises to be a “fast-paced round-based 6v6 pilot only elimination mode.” Each round will last 60 seconds and was inspired by speedball matches in Paintball. “We wanted to capture the spirit of these lightning-fast competitive matches and give it a Titanfall twist. Live Fire, like speedball, is fundamentally about forward momentum. You have to advance against the enemy, attack aggressively without hesitation, and make split second decisions that can make or break your team’s victory.” Explained Griffin Dean, designer of the new mode.
The Live Fire Update will launch sometime in February and will come with two maps for the new mode, as well as a new map for the Colosseum mode called Columns.
Following the release of Angel City back in November, the next map to be added into Titanfall 2 will be Colony, another fan favourite map from the first Titanfall. The Colony map will come in the March update.
As with November’s update, Respawn will also be adding some paid cosmetic items, including Prime Titans and new Execution moves with each update.
