Paramount Digital Entertainment has announced today that Digital Extremes (Developers of Bioshock 2 and The Darkness 2) will be working on a brand new Star Trek game based off of J. J. Abrams’ 2009 summer blockbuster.
The game features Kirk and Spock working together to stop “a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.” The game is being penned by the movie writers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, as well as Marianne Krawczyk who worked on games such as God of War.
Digital Extremes team is working with Abrams’ Bad Robot production company (whose busy working on Super 8 ) and the movie’s producer Damon Lindelof. The Game is offering Co-op gameplay, and will be a disc base game (hopefully we can avoid a flop like D.A.C.) The game is set to release in 2012 for PC, PS3 and Xbox360, and more info coming at E3.
