During Konami’s press conference today at Gamescon, there was a couple new information about their Silent Hill Series, more specifically, about the Silent Hill 2 and 3 HD collection Remake, and Book of Memories, Wayforward’s Playstation Vita Multiplayer game.
Silent Hill: Downpour producer Tomm Hulett announced that the upcoming Silent Hill HD Collection would also be coming to Xbox 360 as a result to fan response to the originally announced exclusivity. However, Hulett did not give a solid release date (the game is currently pegged for “September/October”) Hulett noted that Konami is “aiming” to release Silent Hill HD Collection on both consoles simultaneously.
Now, Wayforward’s Silent Hill game for PlayStation Vita is not quite what you would expect from a Silent Hill game. Konami showed off Silent Hill: Book of Memories this morning, revealing it to be a multiplayer action game (of which we already knew about the title) with a top-down or isometric perspective. Konami is wisely opting to spin Book of Memories off into its own, completely unrelated story, as you’ll also be able to create your own character, further distancing yourself from the sanctity of Silent Hill canon. Book of Memories will feature melee combat, guns and what appears to be an array of RPG elements. However, no release dates have been given at this time.
