It’s a busy week for Warhammer fans, with the leaked announcement of Total War: Warhammer from Creative Assembly which will take place in the Warhammer Fantasy Universe, Focus Home Interactive announced yesterday that they will be bringing another RTS spin to the Warhammer 40,000 series with Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.
The game will focus on the space combat aspect of the Warhammer 40K universe, with ships from the Imperial, Chaos, Eldar, and Ork faction as they battle for control of the Gothic sector of space. Players will be able to manage the ships between and during battles which will include the ability to customize weaponry, defence, and support subsystems. Surviving ships will also gain experience and promotions from battle to battle.
The game is being developed by Tindalos Interactive using the Unreal Engine 4, and while no release date has been announced, we can expect to see something soon according to Focus. Focus is also working on another Warhammer 40K First Person Shooter with Space Hulk: Deathwing which is currently set at a TBA 2015 release.
