There is a lot of new stuff to be excited for on February 15th, Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus, Jump Force, Alita Battle Angel, Doom Patrol. But I can’t think of anything I’m more excited for than Netflix’s live action take on The Umbrella Academy, based on the Eisner award winning series by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
Netflix has already said that the show – which is now streaming – will have a great soundtrack, the best way of proving that is Way’s cover of “Hazy Shade of Winter” which was originally preformed by Simon & Garfunkel. Way teams ups once again with former MCR guitarist Ray Toro to deliver a new punk rock version of the song, with a catchy riff that will get the song stuck in your head for days.
What do you think about Gerard Way’s take on this classic? What are your thoughts about Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy? Let us know your opinion in the comments. Also take a look at the Spotify playlist for the series for some other great tunes from Noel Gallagher, The Doors, Radiohead and more.
