Mortal Kombat and time travel is nothing new, after all, the story for Mortal Kombat (or MK9) focused on Raiden attempting to stop Armageddon by rewriting history. This rewrite has caused some major problems in the MK universe, most importantly, it upset (to put lightly) Kronika, Mortal Kombat’s keeper of time and MK11’s newest big bad.
In a brand new trailer released yesterday, we got to see what Kronika has in store for Earthrealm and its heroes as she attempts to recon Raiden’s mistake as everyone across time begins to attempt to stop a resurrected Shao Kahn from destroying everything and starting over.
The trailer delivers some action packed moments of what is sure to be the biggest MK story yet, but it also delivers a look at some familiar faces from 2015’s Mortal Kombat X, including Erron Black, Jacqui Briggs, Cassie Cage, and Kotal Kahn. Cassie was also given a closer look in a separate trailer highlighting her fight style plus a brutal (and hilarious) fatality.
Mortal Kombat 11 is set for release on April 23rd on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
