It seems like we’ll be seeing more than the upcoming Stranger Things game from Netflix as the Entertainment and streaming juggernaut has announced plans to come to E3 this year with a telling panel titled: “Bringing Your Favourite Shows to Life: Developing Netflix Originals into Video Games.”
Netflix has been dabbling with the idea for some time, recently they started producing “choose your own adventure” style programs, including the well received Black Mirror movie: Bandersnatch, and even releasing TellTale’s Minecraft Story Mode. The upcoming Stranger Things game however has been the first game based on a Netflix Original Series which is seeing a full release, which promises to loosely follow the events of Season 3 which comes out this July.
Netflix’s NX Twitter account has confirmed that they will be showing off more of the Stranger Things game at the show but also tweeted that there is “more to come.” Assuming with the title of the panel, we can only assume that we’ll probably see more Originals being shown at the show. After all, Netflix has a wide variety of shows that could translate into video games, two off the top of our heads that we think could work would be shows like The Umbrella Academy and Altered Carbon.
We’ll have to wait and see what Netflix has to show at the Expo next month.
