Dragon Age is getting a new animated series which will be coming to Netflix next month called Dragon Age: Absolution. According to Netflix, the show will focus on a rag-tag team of adventurers as a plan to steal a blood magic powered artifact called the Curriculum Infinitus goes sideways and the team scrambles for survival after ticking off “the most powerful man in Tevinter.”
The show will feature some big names in the voice acting community including Kimberly Brooks as Miriam, a “pragmatic elven mercenary”; Matthew Mercer as Fairbanks, a dashing freedom fighter; Ashly Burch as Qwydion, a Qunari mage with bubbly, destructive blabbermouth; Sumalee Montano as Hira, an idealistic mage and friend of Miriam; Phil LaMaar as Roland, a charming, gritty warrior; Keston John as Lacklon, a gruff dwarven fighter; Josh Keaton as Rezaren, “a good man in a wicked world”; and Zehra Fazal as Tassia, a dutiful and hardworking ally of Rezaren.
Absolution will run for six, 30-minute episodes releasing on Netflix on December 9th and is developed by Bioware and Red Dog Culture House, which previously worked on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and Centuarworld.
Bioware is currently at work on the next game in the series, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Since its reveal, Bioware has released some concept art, a brief teaser, and confirmed that it would be a single-player game, after removing a planned multiplayer mode early in development.
