Devolver Digital announced the long awaited release date for the ultra-violent beat’em up from Le Cartel Studio, Mother Russia Bleeds. The announcement comes via a new trailer showing off some gory brawling which involves pipes, guns, broken beer bottles, and drugs that give our “heroes” the ability to crush skulls with their hands.
Set in an alternate U.S.S.R, the story centres around a group of imprisoned street fighters who must escape their prison to overcome an oppressive criminal authority and forced drug addictions. Players can take on the story in Solo play or with 3 friends on couch or online as they stomp, bash, crush and destroy everything in their path.
Post-Launch content also includes a Versus mode allowing you to take the beat down to your friends, and a Boss Rush mode which “you are not prepared for in any meaningful way.”
“Mother Russia Bleeds has everything the kids love these days like beating someone to death with a toilet during a prison riot and injecting drugs into your neck in order to punch off a gangster’s head,” noted Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker.
Mother Russia Bleeds is set for a September 5th release on PC, Mac, and Linux, a PS4 version of the game is expected later this year.
