As we get closer to Mortal Kombat X’s release, new information is coming in waves, everything from new fighters, new modes, and new online features. There were 3 big announcements for the game this week, the first involves some love for PS4 players with PS3 fightsticks. NeitherRealm had confirmed that 2 fightsticks will work on the PS4, the Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition fight stick from 2011 and the Injustice: Gods Among Us fight stick from 2013. It is unknown if the Xbox One version will also have this support or if other fightsticks can be used.
We’ve all been in the situation where we’re kicking all sorts of ass and then the other fighter just quits the fight, doesn’t even give you the satisfaction of ripping them in half. Well NeitherRealm has a fix for this, introducing the Quitality. It is pretty simple, if your opponent quits during a match, his head explodes and you get an instant win. The new system is all about awarding the player and glorifying the winner.
Finally, NeitherRealm released the fighters for the Kombat Pack, Mortal Kombat X’s season pass. The team previously mentioned that Jason Vorhees would be a playable character available for the pack but what of the other three? It was confirmed that two classic characters, Tremor and Tanya would be 2 of the characters returning, while the last spot will be filled out by The Predator, the alien hunter from the film of the same name.
Aside from the characters themselves, each release will feature a set of skins for specific characters. “The Predator/Prey Pack” that includes The Predator as a playable character, along with Predator-themed skins Commando Johnny (Cage), Infrared Scorpion, and “Carl Weathers as Jax.” Jason Vorhees’ “Ultimate Horror Pack” includes the Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile and Pharaoh Ermac skins; Tanya’s “The Klassic Pack No. 1” has “klassic” skins for Kano, Sonya and Liu Kang, who was previously unannounced for the game. Tremor’s “The Klassic Pack No. 2” includes skins for Quan Chi, Jax and Kung Lao.
