While we’ve received a ton of new information about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct, which shared details on new game features and revealed 5 new characters including Donkey Kong Country’s King K. Rool and Castlevania’s Simon Belmont. According to director Masahiro Sakurai, there is still more to come.
During the presentation, Sakurai teased that there are still “a few” unannounced fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sakurai didn’t leave any hints to provide their identities, but he did confirm that Nintendo plans to announce every character before the game launches in December.
The presentation itself announced the two new characters mentioned above while also mentioning three new Echo fighters. Echo Fighters for those unfamiliar with the term, are characters who act as a variation of another fighter – such as Princess Peach and Daisy. The new echos are Dark Samus from Metroid Prime 3, Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening and Richter Belmont – an echo of Castlevania’s Simon Belmont.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set for a December 7th release on the Nintendo Switch.
