On Twitter, Mojang founder and the creator of Minecraft, Markus “Notch” Persson, said his company and Bethesda Softworks finally reached a settlement in their trademark dispute over Scrolls, the name Mojang has chosen for its next game.
“The settlement is that we give them the trademark, get to keep the name, and won’t make an elder scrolls competitor using the name.” Notch tweeted. Persson said Mojang did not have to pay “damages.” While it’s unclear if any money changed hands for any other purposes, Notch did said both sides’ lawyers almost certainly made a lot of money.
