Mirror’s Edge, Just Cause 3 and Black Ops 3 Collector Edition announced, priced and detailed.

In the mist of SDCC this week, three collectors editions were dropped on our unsuspecting wallets, making us want to clear room on our shelves (or our kitchen/cave/dorm in one case.)

Starting with the cheapest of the announced Collector Editions is Square Enix and Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause 3. Priced at $109.99, it comes with a 15-inch replica of Rico Rodriguez’s iconic grappling hook, along with a pack of exclusive in-game vehicles, a 2-foot square poster of the Meditterranean-themed game world, and a 32-page hardcover art book. The Grapple Hook was voted by fans who also had the choice between diecast vehicles, an RC copter and multiple dioramas of Rodriguez in action. Pre-Orders are available now, with the game set to be released on Dec 1st.

Next we have EA/DICE’s open world free-running game, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The Collector’s Edition is a little on the pricey side at $199.99, and features a 14-inch statue of Faith in two versions, an adult and child. It also comes with a steelbook case, exclusive lithograph; a set of 10 pieces of concept artwork; and two temporary tattoos, one based on the game’s logo and the other on Faith’s Arm Tattoo. The Collector’s Edition will be in limited supply and is available for pre-order now, the game itself won’t be out until Feb 23rd on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Finally we have a more practical use of a Collector’s Edition item, which surprisingly comes from Activision with Call of Duty Black Ops 3’s “Juggernog Edition” which at the time of writing is only on New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape‘s website. This edition is currently priced at NZ$289.99, which is about $195; but gives you access to the Season Pass, in-game personalization packs, a mini-fridge, The Giant zombie map, and a digital soundtrack.

Wait… A Mini-Fridge?!?

Yep. As seen above, the Juggernog edition will include a mini-fridge based on a fictional drink that gives your character extra perks in the Zombie campaign. The fridge is also stated to hold a dozen 12-ounce beverage cans, and feature the lights and sounds of the ever-popular zombie mode.
