The first details about Telltale and Mojang’s collaboration game, Minecraft: Story Mode, was released yesterday at Minecon in London, and to many it has come as a surprise at the amount of talent backing the voices in the game.
Lets talk a little about the game itself first. At no surprise to anyone, Minecraft: Story Mode will be an 5 part episodic game with gameplay being similar to other titles from Telltale games (The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead) and will be set around 4 adventurers who are the best at what they do, a Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. The team bands together once again after a “Terror” is unleashed at Endercon, they must set out to find “The Order of the Stone.”
What is surprising about the game is the voice cast, which highlights Patton Oswald (Ratatouille, Agents of Shield) as the game’s protagonist, Jessie. Joining Oswald is Brian Posehn (Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), Ashley Johnson (Ellie – The Last of Us), Scott Porter (Batman: Arkham Knight), Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman (The Goonies), Billy West (Futurama), and Paul Reubens (PeeWee’s Big Adventure).
The game is set to launch later this year
