Heavy Metal and Video Games, is there a more perfect pair?
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine appeared at the New York Stock Exchange recently to speak about Megadeth’s wine and beer ventures in an interview with the exchange’s social media. Towards the end of the interview (which you can see on Loudwire) Mustaine gave a glimps at the future of the band which included a new video game title.
“I’m working on a video game that encompasses a lot of the band’s history and a lot of little riffs that we’ve never used before, stuff like that,” said Mustaine.
Sadly this was all that was stated for the upcoming project, leaving us to speculate what kind of game it could be, along with what platform it would release for. Although knowing that we’ll get previously unheard riffs in the game is pretty awesome!
Megadeth wouldn’t be the first band to jump into games, for better or worst. A recent example would be from Avenged Sevenfold who released Hail to the King: Deathbat, which featured several areas inspired by the bands discography and artwork.
Of course, we’ll be keeping an eye to see what Mustaine can bring to the video game world.
