While it may not have been the Nintendo Announcement we were expecting, Nintendo dropped the first trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, announcing that the sequel to the popular Superhero Action RPG will be a Switch exclusive in 2019.
The latest entry of the series brings more heroes to game, including members of the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men, as they take on members of The Black Order and prevent Thanos from gaining the Infinity Stones. Aside from the Order themselves, the trailer also highlighted other Marvel Villains including The Kingpin, Green Goblin, Sandman, the Sentinels and Ultron.
The series first released in 2006 as a spiritual successor to Ravensoft’s X-Men Legends. It saw a sequel in 2009, and a buggy HD remake on PS4 and Xbox One. Surprisingly, the series has switched developers and is now being developed by Team Ninja, the studio behind the Dead or Alive series, Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.
It just happens by luck that we started playing the first Ultimate Alliance on Twitch last week. If you need a refresher of how awesome the series is, check out our video Twitch Recap below.
