While Mad Max is returning to theatres in Mad Max: Fury Road on May 15th, it’s going to be a bit longer before we can actually become the Road Warrior himself. Avalanche Studios and WB confirmed that the game is currently set for a September 1st release.
WB has confirmed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 version has been cancelled to focus on the newer consoles, a similar move pulled by WB with Techland’s Dying Light. Pre-ordering the game will give you a car body calledĀ “The Ripper,” which “packs a powerful V8 engine, upgraded exhaust with custom off-road tires, a ramming grill and a tuned suspension so it can take on a variety of Wasteland surfaces.”
The Mad Max game is said to be a unique story, which will involve Max’sĀ Interceptor getting stolen from bandits, leading him on an openworld trek though a post-apocolyptic world with a mechanic named “Chumbucket.”
