At the moment, Luigi’s Mansion is the closest thing that Nintendo has right now to a horror game, so it makes sense that the official release date for the upcoming entry to the series – Luigi’s Mansion 3 – will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 31st.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 follows the Mario Brother in an all new ghostbusting story in which he and some of the Mario cast are trapped in a Haunted Hotel. Luigi is reunited with the Poltergust-00 with several new upgrades including to make an ectoplasm version of himself that can be used to help solve deadly puzzles and be controlled by a second player. Aside from Gooigi, there will also be a special multiplayer mode called Scarescraper mode, which will create randomly generated floors and objectives for players to complete.
In case you’re wondering why this is Luigi’s Mansion 3, aside from being the obvious answer that it’s the third game of the series, a sequel to the original Gamecube title was released exclusively on the 3DS as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon which was released back in 2013.
