In a surprise announcement at Gamescom, Bandai Namco had revealed that a sequel to Little Nightmares is on its way and will be just as creepy as the original.
The new trailer for Little Nightmares 2 doesn’t tell us much but we do see Six as she attempts to make her way out of the Maw with a new companion, a character named Mono. According to Senior Narrative Designer, Dave Mervik, Mono and Six will journey to a place called the Signal Tower, which will play a central role in the story.
The trailer also shows off new outdoor environments including wooded areas and abandoned shacks. Another new feature which was a departure from the original was combat, as Six is able to pick up and use items like kitchen utensils and hammers to fight off some smaller monsters. According to Mervik, players can use weapons to try to keep themselves safe, which means they’re likely for defensive purposes only.
Little Nightmares 2 is set to release sometime in 2020 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC and Xbox One.
