With the upcoming sequel to the highly successful Magician Heist film “Now You See Me”, Lionsgate is set to bring two tie-in games to mobile markets. The first of which will be a Mobile VR based game from Side-Kick VR (Romans from Mars, Sidekick Bowling), which will be a hidden object game in which players can unravel clues and investigate different illusions that were used in the first film.
The second game is being developed by Kiwi (Westbound, Shipwrecked: Lost Islands), which promises to be a “highly-interactive, narrative-driven game” by Lionsgate and will allow players to explore the world of illusionists and “dark magic.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that Lionsgate teamed up with game companies to release tie-in features, last year the studio teamed up with Starbreeze and Grab Games to develop a VR based game for the Keanu Reeves action flick, John Wick, which was also featured in Starbreeze and Overkill’s PayDay 2.
According to Lionsgate, the two mobile games are schedule for release around the time the sequel hits theatres. Now You See Me 2 will be in theatres June 10th and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Daniel Radcliffe, Morgan Freeman, and Lizzy Caplan
