Let’s be honest here, we all tuned into the Nintendo Switch Event last night to learn when we could get our hands on the new Legend of Zelda game that has been a major tease since it was announced. At first the game was slated as a Wii U title, pushed back to be a Switch launch title, then rumours circulated that it may not even reach release.
Finally Nintendo, in a very Nintendo way featuring a short with Reggie, Miyamoto and Breath of the Wild producer Eiji Aonuma stating that they didn’t know the release date, then cutting to a very cool trailer with the Switch’s Launch date, March 3rd 2017.
After the event more new came from Nintendo about the various editions of Breath of the Wild (BotW from here on out) which includes a Regular, Special and Master Edition. The special edition will include a carrying case, collectible coin, map, tapestry and the game’s soundtrack. The master edition, which will cost $129.99 USD, will include everything from the special but also include a special Master Sword figure (see below).
If you’re not looking to shell out $399 CAD ($299 USD) for a new console just to play BotW, don’t worry, as Nintendo also confirmed that the Wii U version will also launch on March 3rd as well.
