When you think of Fist of the North Star, there should be a number of different post apocalypse martial arts carnage that should pop in your mind – not to mention the great brawler from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon team, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.
But what you probably don’t think of, is a fitness exercise game that uses the classic anime as a focus.
Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star was announced during last week’s Nintendo Direct and is set to launch in March 2023. The teaser trailer shows off the game’s exercise mode, in which players follow Kenshiro’s instruction for various punches, weaves, ducks and dodges to get the blood pumping to the beat. The game also offers a battle mode in which players can destroy waves of enemies and go one-on-one with classic villains including Jaggi.
This is the third entry in the Fitness Boxing series which has been exclusive to the Switch due to the use of the Joy-Con’s motion controls, but definitely one of the strangest crossover games we’ve seen in a while.
