During Netflix’s Tudum event, Netflix and Riot Games debuted a new trailer for the upcoming animated series, Arcane, which is set to launch on the streaming service on November 6th.
Based on the world of League of Legends, Arcane takes place in the utopian world of Piltover and will include familiar League of Legends characters such as Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn. The trailer shows off a lot of action and sisterly drama.
Arcane does have a strange release schedule for Netflix, as it will be available at 7PM PT, hours after the League of Legends Worlds Final, and will consist of nine episodes with three episodes per act. The first act will be released on November 6th, with act two and act three releasing on November 13th and 20th respectfully. Act Two and Three will release at 12 AM PT on their release dates.
“Players all over the world love League and its universe,” explained Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent. “Their passion is what inspires us to create expressions of Runeterra worthy of their fandom. The launch of Arcane is the beginning of the next chapter for Riot and we can’t wait for players to see what we have in store for them across games, entertainment, and sports. “In recognition of this moment, we’re putting players at the center of an amazing launch experience. Worlds and Arcane will combine to form a unified, global celebration, blending competition, entertainment, and community in a whole new way. Think about it like a super weekend for players.”
