It’s hard to be surprised by the addition of fighting game characters when the game is based on a popular anime, and the announcement of two new fighters to Arc System Work’s Dragon Ball FighterZ where pretty obvious ones. Krillin and Piccolo.
The two fighters were unveiled in the latest issue of V-Jump magazine, which proived some brief information on each. While both fighters lack the overall power of some of the Saiyans on the roster, they do have unique moves to help compensate.
According to Gematsu, Piccolo can extend his arms to grab opponents and keep them at a distance with some high-speed beam attacks. Meanwhile Krillin can use some classic Dragon Ball moves including the Kamehameha and afterimage technique to battle foes, he also comes with his Destructo Disc attack which happens to be unblockable, and to top it all, players can control the trajectory of his Ki blast.
Dragon Ball FighterZ was first introduced at this year’s E3 and is planned for a PS4, Xbox One, and PC release in early 2018. Bandai Namco announced a closed beta at EVO this year for PS4 and Xbox One players with registration opening on July 26th. Bandai Namco also suggested that the game could come to the Switch, however they’re focusing on the Switch’s upcoming port of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 first.
