In a surprise announcement, Nintendo has confirmed that Kirby’s next big outing – Kirby and the Forgotten Land – will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 25 2022. The announcement came yesterday with a new trailer (see above) showing off some new gameplay for the 3D action-adventure, which included new copy-abilities and cooperative gameplay.
The game’s story will focus on Kirby attempting to rescue a bunch of Waddle Dees who have been kidnapped by a new group of enemies known as the Beast Pack. He’ll be joined by a new helpful ally called Elfilin in a similar fashion to Legend of Zelda’s Navi (hopefully less annoying.) Meanwhile, the game will also feature a two-player co-op where the second player can control a Bandana-clad Waddle Dee who uses a spear to attack.
The trailer also highlights some of Kirby’s new abilities such as a new drill headgear which allows Kirby to drill underneath baddies, as well as a musket ability allowing him to shoot from afar. Classic Kirby abilities were also shown including the Sword, bomb and hammer abilities.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be priced at $59.99 USD.
