Warhorse Studios released a teaser trailer for their upcoming RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The indie Czech developer, founded in 2011 byMafia and Mafia 2 designer Daniel Vávra, stated that the game is expected to arrive in 2015 for PC and unspecified Next-Gen Consoles.
Kingdom Come is set in the “Holy Roman Empire during the late Middle Ages,” and will allow players engage in first-person hand-to-hand combat sieges and large-scale battles. A surprising twist is that unlike other games that draw inspiration from the era, Warhorse promised “no magic, high fantasy or mythical overtones” but will instead focus on “historically authentic characters, themes and warfare.” One of those themes includes the right to sit on the throne and to hold power over the kingdom, the central plot of the game.
Warhorse has opened it’s blog, describing the issues they’ve experience finding a suitable publisher for the open-world RPG and where they currently stand in development.
