Square Enix and Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause series is a blast (almost literally) to play thanks to its focus on destructive balls-to-the-wall gameplay, but how well would it translate to film?
It appears we’re about to find out as 20th Century Fox and Square Enix announced that a film adaptation of the game is in the works with Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Frontier and Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League film) set to play the lead as Rico Rodriguez. Director Brad Peyton, who has worked on disaster movies before with San Andreas and the upcoming adaptation of Rampage.
The screenplay was written by Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World writer John Collee, and while plot details are minimal, we are aware that the film will see Rico have a “crisis of conscience” during one of his missions.
