June is a time to pull out all the big hits, especially since E3 is just around the corner and plenty of games are going to be announced. With all eyes on various companies, people especially pay attention to Sony and Microsoft to see if there is anything coming to their subscription services. This month we get some big hits across both Playstation and Xbox.
Starting with the Xbox One, Players will be getting two games, one new and one carried over from last month. The carried over game just happens to be Pool Nation FX once again, making it the second month to get carried over from previous deals. The new game is Double Fine’s second Kickstarter title Massive Chalice, which launches on June 1st on Xbox One as well as Linux, Mac and Windows PC via Steam. Massive Chalice is a turned based fantasy RPG that has been described as a cross between X-Com and Final Fantasy Tactics that throws in bloodlines and breeding, the game will be available for the full month.
Xbox 360 players will be getting two Square Enix titles this month, starting with Avalanche Studios’ open world chaos simulator Just Cause 2, which can serve as a perfect refresher for the upcoming sequel. Just Cause 2 will be available between June 1-15th, and will then be replaced with Edios Montreal’s Thief remake, itself will run between June 16-30th.
Playstation Plus Subscribers on PS4 will be getting quite the deal this month as 2 awesome title exclusively to the PS4 and 2 Cross-buy PS4/Vita titles. These PS4 only titles include Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the prequel to the upcoming and highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Joining Metal Gear is 17-bit’s Army Strategy game Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide edition. The PS4/Vita cross-buy titles include Honeyslug’s “Super Exploding Zoo” and MixedBag’s “Futuridium EP Deluxe”.
Finally PS3 Plus Subscribers will be getting two great arcade titles including Ubisoft and Techland’s Call of Juarez: GunSlinger, which is an Arcade-style first person shooter where players take on contracts to bring down some of the West’s most notorious criminals and outlaws. Joining it is Cloudberry Kingdom, a side scrolling platformer so hard that it puts games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls to shame.
With E3 around the corner, there is a chance that more could be added to this list depending on Microsoft or Sony (and possibly EA) conference, both have been known in the pass to give a few titles away during the show.
