We’ve been hearing rumours of Injustice 2 for a while now, but today NetherRealm and WB Games has officially announced the project ahead of E3 with a really cool trailer pitting Superman, Batman, Flash and Supergirl in battle with each other and more importantly wearing Armour that appears to be enhancing their powers.
As always, the team at NetherRealm continues to push the boundries of the Fighting Genre and according to Ed Boon, Injustice 2 will be no different, stating that players will get to choose how their favourite DC Superheroes and Villains look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.
“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games,” said Boon in a press release. “We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customise and level-up their favourite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”
The game will also feature the biggest roster of DC characters yet, from returning favourites such as Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and The Flash, and new characters to the mix including Supergirl, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. The game will continue the storyline set in the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, where Batman and his allies are cleaning up after Superman’s regime fell, only to find a bigger threat coming for them.
We’re expecting to hear more about the title next week at E3, until then, check out the awesome Cinematic trailer!
