Forever Entertainment, who are currently working on the remakes of the cult-classic Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei, has confirmed that they’ll be bringing two more Sega games back by remaking the first two games in the House of the Dead series.
The House of the Dead and House of the Dead 2 were originally released in arcades in 1996 and 1998, later being ported to the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. The rail-gun series became extremely popular and would spawn several sequels – with the latest released on the Wii and PS3 as House of the Dead Overkill, and saw several spin-offs including Typing of the Dead (which swapped the plastic guns for a keyboard) and a 3D beat’em up called Zombie Attack on the Dreamcast.
Forever Entertainment announced the remakes on Twitter but have not confirmed the platforms or release dates – and more importantly how they’re going to bring the lightgun controls to PC and Modern Consoles. However we do believe the game is in good hands after seeing previews of the Panzer Dragoon remake at E3 2019 which updated the original Sega Saturn game to look more vibrant than the original.
