After rumors, speculation, and a slip-up on the Microsoft store, we finally got confirmation that Master Chief’s next adventure in Halo Infinite will be released on December 8th, 2021.
The release was announced during Gamescom on Wednesday by the game’s creative lead Joseph Staten, who confirmed that Halo Infinite’s campaign and multiplayer will be available on the same day.
Halo Infinite was announced in 2018 and was first expected to launch alongside the Sebox Series X|S in November 2020, however, after receiving feedback on poorly received gameplay footage and development issues due to Covid-19, the game was delayed.
During E3 2020, 343 Industries announced that the game would have a free-to-play multiplayer mode and a single-player campaign, which will reveal Cortana’s fate, and introduce “The Weapon,” an AI created to stop her. However, 343 also confirmed that there will be no co-op campaign or Forge mode at launch.
