So you like to think you’re good at GWENT, but are you good enough to win $25,000?
CD Projekt Red is setting up a GWENT tournament at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this year as part of a larger eSports Plan that the company has for the Witcher Card game. A total of 8 Players will compete for a piece of the $25,000 prize pool, 7 of which will be the top players who signed up to take part in the tournament, determined by their ranking on August 1st, 4PM CEST, while the rest will be a Wild Card Qualifier who will be picked prior to the main event at the GWENT Booth.
GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is an expanded version of the card mini-game found in the Game of the Year winning Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt Red expanded on the some of the core ideas of the game, included new card that can produce damage and various modifiers to scores, to give it a deeper competitive edge. The game is available as a free to play title via PS4, Xbox One and PC via GOG.com.
