The upcoming re-release of Grand Theft Auto 5 won’t just be a good looking port, but will feature several new features as well. The biggest of these features is the new First Person View.
The new view is more than just a camera change according to GTA 5 animation director Rob Nelson who in an interview with IGN stated “We have a very solid third-person animation system, but you don’t just put the camera down there and expect to see the guns, aim, and shoot. All those animations are new when you switch to first-person, because it all has to be animated to the camera, to make it feel like a proper first-person experience that I think people would expect.”
According to a press release, GTA 5 will feature a new cover system, targeting system and a more “traditional FPS control scheme.” Players will also have the ability to switch from first to third person view any time they want.
On top of this the PS4 version was announced to have some special features regarding the DualShock 4 controller, these features are:
- Access GTA Online’s interaction menu by holding the DualShock 4’s touch-pad
- Phone calls and police radio sounds will emit from the DualShock 4’s speaker
- Swipe the touch-pad up or down to change weapons
- Swipe the touch-pad left or right to change the radio station
- The DualShock 4 light bar will flash red and blue when you have a Wanted level
So far nothing has been mentioned about dedicated PC and Xbox One features.
