It doesn’t matter if we were fighting waves of creatures, Dancing All Night, or dropping bricks to the beat, these were the games that we thought featured some of the best music in 2018.
THE NOMINEES ARE:
Persona: Dancing All Night
Tetris Effect
The Messenger
Red Dead Redemption 2
God of War
THE WINNER:
THE MESSENGER
There is just something special about the music for Sabotage Studio and Devolver Digital’s The Messenger. Composed by chiptune artist RainbowDragonEyes, the game swaps between an 8-bit version and 16-bit version of the song, both in their own right an a fun mix but together makes it absolutely amazing and deserving to be on your music device.
Runner-up: Tetris Effect
There was much debate about the music category that we could not tip our hats to Monstars Inc. and Resonair’s Tetris Effect which gave producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Rez and Lumines fame the opportunity to finally take everyone’s favourite puzzle game and deliver a brilliant mix of tunes.
