2018 had plenty of opportunities to impress by showing off new animation techniques, world building and cool designs. From the marvellous throwback to the 16-bit era with Octopath Traveller, the “am I watching the anime or playing a game?” cel-shading of Dragonball FighterZ, to the gorgeous trip though Norse Mythology in God of War. Here is our choices for the Best Graphics in 2018.
THE NOMINEES ARE:
Forza Horizon 4
Red Dead Redemption 2
God of War
Octopath Traveller
Dragonball FighterZ
THE WINNER IS:
RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
Before we even got to play Red Dead Redemption 2, we were already impressed with what Rockstar had to show during its introduction trailer, then we got to see the sparkling snow cap mountains in the game’s opening and we were hook. Rockstar’s engine makes the game a wonder to look at with great animation and a beautiful living environment to explore that you just can’t help but slow down and take it all in.
