The shooter genre didn’t feel as dominant has it had in the past few years but still produced some amazing titles. With a familiar franchise going back to its roots, a great co-operative experience, and a sequel that featured some much-needed improvements. Here is our top Shooters of 2017:
NOMINEES:
Ghost Recon: Wildlands (Ubisoft)
Call of Duty WWII (Sledgehammer Games/Activision)
Destiny 2 (Bungie/Activision)
Prey (Arkane Studios/Bethesda)
Wolfenstein 2 (Machine Games/Bethesda)
WINNER:
Wolenstein 2: The New Colossus
Machine Games and Bethesda have done something unique with the Wolfenstein series that we want to see more of in our shooters. Wolfenstein 2 took everything we loved about The New Order (which also won Shooter of the Year in 2014) and amplified it. A stronger story backed by more intense combat with plenty of awesome guns that can be upgraded and dual-wielded, there isn’t much more that we want out of the series to make us feel like a bad ass.
