During the Playstation Showcase on Thursday, we got our most in-depth look at the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok, the confirmed last game in the Norse Story that started in 2018’s critically acclaimed “reimagining” of the franchise.
The trailer showcases an older Atreus and Kratos in a frozen Midgard as the two prepare to try to survive Ragnarok – the Norse mythology version of the end of the world. We also see some of the dangers that lie ahead of them as they encounter both friends and foes – which includes Thor (played by Ryan Hearst of Sons of Anarchy fame,) Odin (Richard Schiff of The West Wing), and Freya.
God of War: Ragnarok is set for 2022 after being delayed earlier this year. The 2018 reimagining received a free upgrade patch in early February, giving it 60 fps with a 4K checkerboard resolution. It is also available as part of the Playstation Plus collection which is available to PS5 owners with a Playstation Plus Subscription.
In the meantime, check the trailer below to check out Ragnarok in action.
