If there is one Playstation 4 game that is high on my list of replaying on the Playstation 5 when I (finally) get one, it is definitely 2018’s God of War. Now there is more of a reason to do so with a new patch released yesterday which adds a new menu option that gives PS5 owners 60 frames per second with 4K resolution.
The original setting, now called the “Original Performance Experience” setting, still delivers 4K checkerboard-rendered resolutions but synchronizes it to 30 frames per second. The enhanced performance mode moves this up with 2160p resolution at 60 frames per second. In other words, it makes an already pretty game look much better.
God of War is playable on PS5 via the console’s backward compatibility support and is included in the 20-game Playstation Plus Collection, the package of downloadable Playstation 4 games that Playstation 5 owners are entitled to (and also requires a Playstation Plus subscription).
